I am the cemetery chair for the society. Our current project is to locate, transcribe and do cument the cemeteries in our county. On our list there happens to be an elusive grave for Ho yt and Lothrop. I am wondering if this is the Timothy Hoyt in your family tree. According t o my research his wife was from Boston, Mass. but you show Africa. Have a look at the 1900 c ensus record for Maryland. Also, I found a deed showing he owned land near Hill Top. The de ed shows he was living in Washington D.C. around 1874. I'm not sure if it's the same perso n in your research. Your thoughts........

I hope you have access to the census records as I found some you might like to see. In the 1 850 census Timothy Hoyt is 24 years old and in the household is also Steven Hoyt (I think i s his brother) and Betsy who may be Steven's wife. Martha age 48 who may be Timothys mother , and his other brother Nehemiah. 1880 Spartenburg, SC Timothy was living here then at the a ge of 50. In the 1900 census Edward and his wife Fanny are living in Hill Top which is locat ed in Charles County, MD. 1900 census Timothy and his daughter Martha are also living in Hil l Top. In 1910 Martha is a boarder in a house in Wash. D.C. (District of Columbia) In 192 0 Martha is age 47 and is still in Wash. D.C. She doesn't appear in the 1930 census but the n she could of married. The graves are on personal agricultural property and not in a publi c or church cemetery.
In deed JST6/538 dated May 2, 1894 Jane H. Millar, Charles W. & wife Sarah E. Millar sold 7 5 ac to Timothy Hoyt of Wash. D.C. the land is located in the 2nd district east side of publi c Rd. leading from Durham Parish Church to Pisgah Church and running easterly. I believe thi s is where he is buried.
