    Johan Nicholas and his sister, Maria Elizabeth, each married into separate branches of my family tree- an extension of the Daniel and Rehrer family. Arthur H. Daniels married Alice Lucy Rehrer. They were my grandparents. Notes: Alice C. Hahn-Genealogist Andromeda.

    After John Nicholas and Anna Barbara were married. they lived for several years in Tulpehocken Twp., Berks Co.,Pa.,as Nicholas was a taxpayer in the twp. in 1759. He attended the Altalaha Lutheran Church in Rehrersburg, Berks Co., Pa. in 1760. On January 29, 1762, a news item appeared in the Sowers Newspaper referring to Nicholas Brosious, from "Beyond the Blue Mountains." A item of interest is that the people of Pennsylvania, called their mountains by colors. Note's: June Parr from Brosius Family Message Board, Family History.com

    Catharina Brosius was born in Berks Co., Pennsylvania one year after Nicholas on Sept 15, 1753. Her father, John Nicholas Brosius, was also born in Pennsylvania but her paternal grandfather, Johan George Brosius, was born in Weierbach, Germany. As indicated in Figure 2, the Brosius family can be traced back to Conrad Brosius who was born around 1639 in Germany. For further information on the Anna Catharina Brosius' ancestors, we recommend a book on the Brosius Family by David Becker.

    They settled in the Schwaben Creek Valley in 1772. Nicholas was one of the founders of the Himmel Church.
