Note: Pete and Maggie Boyles were living in Urich, MO when they decided to go by covered wagon and see the newly opened lands near Frederick, OK. The first winter they lived in a sod dugout house as no lumber was available at that time. He built a ne w home the next spring, this from the money he earned allowing grazing on his homestead. He also did hauling of lumber for the mills. Lester and Loren, their two sons were each given an Indian Paint pony. The family later moved to Newkirk, OK , where Pete became a rural mail carrier. They divorced and Pete moved back to Urich, MO. Maggie moved north to Arkansas City, KS and bought property so she could provide rooms for the railroaders. Pete remarried in Urich to a woman named Pear l who had a son by a previous marriage named Bunny. At this time Pete owned and operated a produce and creamery.
