WILL OF TEMPERANCE GERRARD (HUTT, CRABBE, BLANCHFLOWER)

Temperance Blanchflower leaves estate to Ann Davis, and to her grandchildren, the children of her sons Gerard Hutt and Osman Crabb.

Temperance Gerard married Daniel Hutt of Virginia. Hutt was originally a New England sailing master and was convicted in 1659 of illegally trading with the Indians in Maryland and his bark, the Mayflower, was confiscated through action of the Provincial Court. Although not an inhabitant of the Province at this time, he was present at the sessions at St. Clement's Manor and Bushwood which preceded Fendall's Rebellion. Subsequently he was master of vessels engaged in the Barbados trade and made his home in Virginia. After the death of Hutt, Temperance married John Crabbe, a propserous Virginia merchant.
