Note: Oldest Living Grandchild of Sallie Powell Passes Away Recently, Dolores Brown notified me "that the oldest living grandchild of Sallie died on March 14, 2003: Leona Grimm Clay, daughter of Louisa and Claud Grimm. She was 91 years of age and would have been 92 in May of this year. She and her husband Aubrey Clay lived in Bartlesville, OK. He survives her, as do Leona's brother Dean Grimm of Boise, ID and sister, Rae Grimm Bertch of Lexington, TX and several nieces and nephew Leona bore the name of her grandfather Jeptha Powell's mother, Oney, which was short for Leona. I understand that Leona's ashes will be interred in the Grimm family plot, beside her parents' graves, in the Rolla, MO cemetery. It is always sad to lose a beloved relative. Jean and I remember so many good times with Leona when we were younger. I saw her several times during my years in Tucson since she lived in Yuma, AZ before her marriage to Aubrey and their move to Oklahoma. They were able to enjoy summers in their mountain home near Buena Vista, CO until their failing health made such trips impossible."
