Note: ANNOUNCING 18 August 2009 - the Research Conclusion!!
Thriugh the documentation supplied by my/our Bobbet in Suffolk County, England researchers Eileen Sears and Nanette Averett, Marsha was able to take this information and add 2 more generations. Other than the transcribing of one more Will in the 1400's, this research is concluded as a very thorough research has been conclded Tuesday, 18 August 2009.
Marsha's ascendancy from William and Kathryn Bobbet is: Nicholas or Nic Bobbet and Hellond Smith or Smythe Johannes Bobbet and wife
More Continuing Research of this submitter's BOBBET family in Suffolk County, England began March 2009 under the supervision of Marsha Berry and BYU British Researcher and Instructor of British Genealogy Dr. Amy Harris, our researchers are Dr. Harris's best British genealogy researchers and students: Eileen Sears and Nanete Averett. They are persuing Marsha's suggestions of the possible father and grandfather of William Bobbet, based on the 1500's to 1900's All Bobbitt and Variations Burial Index England and Wales, and Wills or other documents..
Several Wills have been found and have been transcribed. Johannes Bobbet Will of 1510 Ipawich, Suffolk, England is the grandfather as their family has land in Campea Ash.
The Continuing Research of this submitter's BOBBET family in Suffolk County. England begins Friday, 20 April 2007 under the supervision of Marsha Berry and BYU Brititsh Researcher and Instructor of British Genealogy Dr. Amy Harris, our researcher is Dr. Harris's best British genealogy researcher and graduating student Kellie Scherbel.
IMPORTANT And INTERESTING NOTE: My William W. BOBBITT's brother David Frank BOBBITT in the 1880 US Liberty, Richardson, Nebraska census told the enumerator about our Bobbitt family being from Suffolk County, England and that our surname in England was spelled BOBBET, so the 1880 Census enumerator spelled our surname BOBBET. Also, the enumerator got Cynthia Bobbitt's birth place ok, but not Frank's father's birthplace, etc. Source of this story: This submiter's cousin who is a Living Descendant of David Frank BOBBITT
Frank BOBBET, age 40, Farmer Celia BOBBET, age 32 Frederick BOBBET, son age 5 William BOBBET, son, age 1 Cynthia BOBBET, Frank's widowed mother, age 71 [Cynthia Ann HAGGARD BOBBITT, widowed wife of deceased Isham Drury BOBBITT, Junior]
With documents getting fewer and fewer, this submitter is so very fortunate to have these documents.
Remember July 2006, ANNOUNCING!! John Bobbet chr 1579's father is William Bobbet or Bobbett not Robert Bobbet or Bobbett, so Robert Bobbet or Bobbett gave up his lands in Grundisburgh to his brother William Bobbett as stipulated in Uncle John Bobbet's 2 Feb 1576 Blaxhall, Suffolk, England Will.
NOTE 2: SOURCES: William Bobbet or Bobbett Documents:
1. Bobbett, William, 1582, Grundisburg, Suffolk, England, Norwich Consistory Court, Wills Will written 14 Jun 1582 William Bobbett 1582 Will, gives wife as Katheryn, and gives children as John, Dorothie, and Alice. William Bobbett died young and charged his wife Katheryn Bobbett to take care of his children.

Dr. Amy Harris, BYU British Researcher and Instructor of British Research in her Monday, 18 September 2006 report to this submitter Marsha Berry, has the following evidence and proof positive of this Suffolk County, England Bobbet or Bobbett family:
1. With the evidence we already discovered with the William Bobbett Will 1582 Grundisburgh, Suffolk, England, the son John Bobbett and his sisters Dorothie and Alice, should be sealed or bound or linked to William and Katheryn Bobbett, as the Will is the proof.
2. It [the research] did, however, produce a marriage for Alice [one of the daughters of William and Katheryn Bobbett] in 1608 to a John Howman in Little Bealings, Suffolk,
3. Nor did it [the research] reveal children for Robert [William Bobbett 1582 Will's brother] though there was a Robert Bobbett marrying an Elizabeth Heywood in Grundisburgh on 4 November 1548.
Note from Dr. Harris: It is highly possible that Robert Bobbett and Elizabeth Heywood may be William and Robert's parents, but this is going to be further researched. Fellow researcher Marsha Berry has found in the IGI, a possible child is Wm Bobet chr 28 Oct 1551 Great Bealings, Suffolk, England and died 29 Dec 1552, Father: Robt Bobet. Source: Extracted chr and death records, Computer printout of Great Bealings, Suffolk, England.
4. Dorothie Bobbett, 1616, Sutton Parish, Suffolk County, England, Burial, Sutton Parish Registers. Dorothie Bobbett is the daughter of William and Katheryn Bobbett.

July 17, 2006: Dr. Amy Harris and Marsha Berry agree the William Bobbett in the Grundisburg, Suffolk, England 1582 Will supports being the father of John Bobbet chr 1759 in Grundisburg, Suffolk, England.
1. Location: There is no other male Bobbet or Bobbett in Grundisburg at the time of John Bobbet's 1579 birth other than William Bobbet or Bobbett in the 1582 Will.
2. Given names: William Bobbett naming his son John Bobbet after his Uncle John Bobbett would be in order and most likely according to British naming patterns.
John Bobbet chr 1759 named one of his daughters Dorothie, and one son William. While the name William is not unusal, Dorothie was more unusual than William, the conjunction of their occurrence among John's children repeats the naming patterns from the earlier family.
3. Children of William Bobbett 1582 were very young in age: The wording of the Will supports the idea that John, Dorothie, and Alice were very young at the time of their father's death. William empasizes that they are underage and that his wife is to care for them according to his instructions until they are 21 and inherit. it is also clear that John is elder than the two girls because after he turns 21 he is to be in charge of managing their inheritance until they turn 21.
The Son of William Bobbet or Bobbett is John BOBBET

The 2 Feb 1576 Probated Will of John Bobbett, Blaxhall, Suffolk, England His nephews are: 1. Roberte Bobbett who has lands in Grundisburg, Suffolk, England 2. William Bobbett, brother of Roberte, who has no lands, but his Uncle John Bobbett is in trust of the gift William's father gave for his brother John to guard and William is not to harass his Uncle John's executors on this issue.
Excerpt from the 2 Feb 1576 Will of John Bobbett, Blaxhall, Suffolk, England pertaining to John Bobbett's nephews Robert and William Bobbett:
" I geve to Roberte Bobbett my nephew xx of good and lawfull money of England to be paied ymediatlie after my decease itm I geve to Roberte Bobbett my Nephew my howse at Asshe with all the landes therto belonging in Asshe and Marlforth with the appurt[en]ance therto belonginge to him and to theire [the heir] of his bodye lawfullye begotten, Condicomally that the saide Rob[er]te shall geve and surrender all his landes at Grundsborowe [Grundisburg] and Burghe to his brother William and his heires.

I give to the saied Willi[a]m my Nephew xx, to be paied to him with in one yeare nexte after my decease uppon condicon that he shall neither moleste nor trobell my executors for my legacye or gifte geven by his father to him with the whiche I am charged, yf he dye then he not to have the saied xx." Executors who had the Will proved: Thomas Osborne, Edward Smythe and Thomas Smythe.
The Transcription of the above 2 Oct 1576 Will of John Bobbett, Blaxhall, Suffolk, England was by Amy Harris, BYU Professor of British Research and expertise with 14th, 15th, and 16th Century British and American Handwritting and Wills.
Research answers some questions: 1. What is the gift given by William's father in trust to his Uncle John? William Bobbett's land in Grundisburgh and Burgh, Suffolk, England.
2. Did Robert Bobbett give up his land in Grundisburgh? Yes, to his brother William as stipulated by his Uncle John Bobbet's 1576 Will. John Bobbett was christened 20 Jun 1597 in Grundisburgh, Suffolk, England, 3 years after John Bobbett's Will was probated in 1576.
3. The IGI extracted christening record of John Bobbett chr 20 Jun 1579 in Grundisburg gives no father or mother. Does this mean that John Bobbett may not have been born of Robert's body as stipulated in John Bobbett's 1576 Will? Robert had his own children and William had his own children.
4. Which nephew Robert or William Bobbett received the house and land in Ashe from their Uncle John Bobbett? Robert Bobbett.
5. John Bobbett chr 1579 in Grudisburgh married Margaret Edgare chr 16 Mar 1577 in Campsea Ashe, Suffolk England. John and Margaret married 7 Oct 1600 in Campsea Ashe and their children were christened in Campsea Ashe.
After 24 years, was John and Margaret Bobbett and their family living in the house and on the lands of Ashe that belonged to their father's uncle John Bobbett? Not known. Either the children of brother Robert Bobbet or Bobbett did something to forfeit their Campsea Ashe land or John and Margaret Edgare Bobbet are living on Margaret's Edgare land.
