Death: 1808 in Orange Co., NC
Lewis Kirk left for HALIFAX County, North Carolina in 1764. He bought 220 acres of land there in January 1764. He sold the land in January 1768 and returned to Orange County, North Carolina about 1771 and remained there the rest of his life. Lewis Kirk was involved in the Revolution. He later became a minister.

Judgement. 19 April 1756. William GOLDEN, Esq. High Sheriff of the cnty of
Newcastle upon DE send greetings. Whereas Erick ANDERSON was seized of a
certain tract of land and plantation situate in CHRISTIANA HUNDRED in sd
cnty bounded on the north by Matthias DEFOSS' plantation and on the south
by Adam STEDHAM's land. And whereas sd Erick ANDERSON and his wife Bridget
did grant a piece of sd land unto Philip SMITH (bounded by lands of James
KIRK and Thomas BERRY) containing 4 acres and 33 perches. And sd Philip
SMITH by his last will dated 20 Nov 1748 did empower William ARMSTRONG as
his Exec. And sd William ARMSTRONG did convey same lot and premises unto
John RANKIN who sold same unto Andrew DICKEY in 1750 under the incumbrance
of a certain mortgage by him to the General Loan Office who together with
Elizabeth his wife granted the same lot under sd mortgage unto John
SPRINGER. And sd John SPRINGER by his last will fully impowered Christopher
SPRINGER and Sarah SPRINGER, Execs. And they in 1754 did convey the same
unto **************WILLIAM WHITTED************* who conveyed the same lot and mortgage unto Eleazer
HUBBIL. And whereas sd Eleazer HUBBIL was in the Court of Common PLeas
before the Justices for Judgement to recovered against sd WILLIAM WHITTED a
debt of £60 14 shillings and damages. Above sd Sheriff was commanded to
seize goods and lands of sd WHITTED, SADLER****************. Seized in execution was the
afsd lot and premises and appraised by Joseph SIMPSON and Thomas OGLE to
the sum of £40. After public notice sd property was sold for the sum of £38
10 shillings to Robert PIERCE as the highest bidder.
