The sponsors at Hans Georg's baptism were Georg Seitz of Roth and his wife Anna Barbara. One Froschauer descendant wrote that "Hans Georg Froschauer was among the first Dunkards baptized in the Eder River about 1724 by Alexander Mack, and early Dunkard preacher. It is unknown where this information came from.

Hans Georg emigrated from the town of Wachenheim, Pfalz, Germany. He arrived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 26 Sept 1732 on the vessel "Mary" of London, John Gray master, from Rotterdam, last from Cowes. There were sixty-nine males above sixteen, one hundred and twenty-two women and children--a total of 183 on board. He was from Meckenheim, Palatinate.

This is probably the John George Froschauer who witnessed the baptism of John George Koch 12 Jun 1751.

    Page 5 Our knowledge of our Froschauer line ends with the rather meager information we have from son Andreas' 1747 baptism: Johann Georg Froschauer was born about 1700 and came from Meckenheim on the Hard (Mountain range); his wife, Catharina, daughter of Hans Adam Graf, came from Lichtenberg near Landau... there are TWO German towns named Meckenheim... One is near Neustadt in the wine-growing area just southwest of Ludwigshafen... Johann George surely came from the first of these, as it is that town which lies in the Haardt (Hardt) Mountains and not too far from Landau.
