    John Georg arrived in Philadelphia on May 30, 1741 aboard the snow Frances and Ann, Thomas Coatam, Master, sailing from Rotterdam by way of St. Christophers in the West Indies, and took an oath, signing with his mark, to the government before Samuel Hasell, the Mayor of Philadelphia the same day.

    John was an early settler of what is now Quincy Township in Franklin County, Pennsylvania. On April 20, 1766 John Georg witnessed the baptism of Anna Barbara Schneider at Falling Spring, Franklin County. By 1767, both John Georg and his brother Georg Adam had at least 116 acres. Jacob Froschour appears in the 1792 Franklin County records as an heir in John George's estate. Both George Cook and John Ralphsnider were also mentioned in John's estate.

      Text: The other Jacob Cook was the son of John George Cook Sr. He married in 1767 to Elizabeth Small at Falling Springs Church. Jacob wrote his will in June 1791 and it was administed in August 1791 by his brother Martin Cook in Franklin County, PA. His will mentions his wife Elizabeth, and his children Heinrich, Jacob and Catharina. Jacob's father John George Cook, Sr. died on 30-Apr-1790. His estate was also administed by his son, Martin Cook. Five heirs are included in the estate: Martin Cook, Catharina Cook (wife of Jacob Freshour), George Cook, Jr., Elizabeth Cook (widow of Jacob Cook), and John Ralphsnider (husband of another Cook daughter. Elizabeth Cook signed a receipt for the proceeds of her portion of the estate.

      3. Georg Adam Koch was born 22 Jun 1719, in Oberlustadt, Rheinland Pfalz, Germany. He married Anna Maria Froschauer (born about 1729 in Meckenheim, Neustadt, Germany-died 1781 in Franklin Co., Guilford Twp. PA), daughter of Hans Georg Froschauer and Katarina Graf, on 26 May 1746, in Adams Co., PA. George Adam Koch lived adjacent to his brother John Georg Koch, Sr. and by 1767 each had at least 1165 acres. Georg Adam Koch died 19 Aug 1785 in Guilford Township and is buried at Grindstone Hill there. The extended Koch family began referring to themnselves as Cook by the time of the American Revolution. Some of Georg Adam's sons evidently served in a local American militia company.

      Text: . . . When I was in Franklin Co, PA I found the estate of Jacob Smith in Will Book B, p. 12. Letters of administration were assigned to Eve Smith, the widow of Jacob Smith. Sureties were George Cook and John Ralphsnider. (John Ralphsnider was a brother-in-law of George Cook and Eve Cook Smith's uncle. Both George Cook and John Ralphsnider were mentioned in John George Cook's estate in 1790 in Franklin Co, PA.)
