Note: John Georg arrived in Philadelphia on May 30, 1741 aboard the snow Frances and Ann, Thomas Coatam, Master, sailing from Rotterdam by way of St. Christophers in the West Indies, and took an oath, signing with his mark, to the government before Samuel Hasell, the Mayor of Philadelphia the same day.
John was an early settler of what is now Quincy Township in Franklin County, Pennsylvania. On April 20, 1766 John Georg witnessed the baptism of Anna Barbara Schneider at Falling Spring, Franklin County. By 1767, both John Georg and his brother Georg Adam had at least 116 acres. Jacob Froschour appears in the 1792 Franklin County records as an heir in John George's estate. Both George Cook and John Ralphsnider were also mentioned in John's estate.

Jacob wrote his will in June 1791 and it was administed in August 1791 by his brother Martin Cook in Franklin County, PA. His will mentions his wife Elizabeth, and his children Heinrich, Jacob and Catharina. Jacob's father John George Cook, Sr. died on 30-Apr-1790. His estate was also administed by his son, Martin Cook. Five heirs are included in the estate: Martin Cook, Catharina Cook (wife of Jacob Freshour), George Cook, Jr., Elizabeth Cook (widow of Jacob Cook), and John Ralphsnider (husband of another Cook daughter.
