Webb Hardware as it is known today had been in the present location on the corner of King and Main Streets since before the year 1900. In 1904, Messrs. A. W. Brewer and J. E. Harrison formed a partnership and bought the hardward stock of W. A. MacDonald. they carried on business on Main St. North, next to P. Lindsay's for two years. In 1906 they bought the stock and store of Magladery Brs., implement dealers, and which is now the present store. In 1944, Mrs. A. G. Webb moved from Shipkan and purchased the business from Mr. F. Brewer and operated a very flourishing business untill 1959.
