        Note: Donald H. Geary, 79, of Juniata (Dunbar), passed away Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at his home, comforted by his loving family beside him. He was born March 3, 1930, in Buena Vista, a son of the late Jacob and Ida Caldwell Geary. He was Protestant by faith. Don was formerly employed as a warehouser for 44 years at Fox Grocery. He was an avid gardener and loved to work in his yard. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Farris Geary, with whom he would have celebrated 54 years of marriage this New Year's Eve; two daughters, Debra Merrill, of Connellsville, and Patti Smaniotto and husband, Joe, of Smithfield; four grandchildren, Eric Merrill and wife, Danielle, of Latrobe, Nicole Baldwin and fiance, Lee Dresch, of Great Falls, Mont., Katie and Emily Smaniotto, of Smithfield; a sister, Margaret Mosser, of Vanderbilt; and two great-grandchildren, Alexis Baldwin, of Great Falls, Mont., and Tanner Merrill, of Latrobe. In addition to his parents, Don was predeceased by brothers, Elgie, Carl, Glenn and Gilbert Geary; and a sister, Mildred Fuller. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the VITO C. MARTUCCI FUNERAL HOME, 123 S. First St., West Side, Connellsville, and until 10 a.m. Thursday, the hour of service, with Pastor Nelson Confer officiating. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.
