Author: Daily Courier Note: Samuel J. Zelenske Jones Mills Samuel Joseph Zelenske, 83, of Jones Mills, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2010, in UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh. He was born March 19, 1927, in Donegal, a son of the late Alex and Helen Burdza Zelenske. Sam was a lifelong resident of the Jones Mills area. He was a graduate of the former Ramsay High School in Mt. Pleasant with the class of 1945. Prior to his retirement, Sam was a truck driver for various companies in the area. He was a veteran of the Army and had served during World War II. Sam was a member of St. Raymond of the Mountain Roman Catholic Church in Donegal. Sam. will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his loving family, his children, Stephen Zelenske and his wife, Joyce, of Somerset, Karen McIntyre and her husband, John, of Savannah, Tenn., Pam Ridenour and her husband, Bruce, of Norvelt, and Judy Marinchak, of United; his grandchildren, Heidi McIntyre-Wilkinson, Alex. Blaize and Cydney Marinchak and Joel Zelenske; his great-grandson, Connor Wilkinson; his sisters, Lorraine DePalma and her husband, Patsy, of Mt. Pleasant, and Janet Coppolino and her husband, Joe, of Saginaw, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Sam was predeceased by his wife, Jean Maxine Geary Zelenske, in 1995; and a brother, Raymond Zelenske. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday in the CLYDE BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., at the corner of Route 711 and 146 Municipal Building Road, Melcroft. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Raymond of the Mountain Roman Catholic Church, Donegal, with the Rev. Anthony Ditto as celebrant.
