  • Given Name: William Maxey
  • Surname: Carnefix
  • Sex: M
  • Birth: 16 Oct 1782 in Campbell Co., VA
  • Death: 9 Sep 1856 in Campbell Co., VA
  • Note:
    From old handwritten document provided by Robert Schutt, Sep 2003:
    William Carnefix was born Oct 16th 1782. William & Nancy Carnefix were married May 6th 1809.

    Birthdate variously listed as 1770 or 1782.

    20HOME%20PAGE (Carnefix Family Home Page):
    CARNEFIX, WILLIAM, b. 1770 , d. Oct 1856 in Campbell Co. Virginia, Father: John Carnefix II, Mother: Nancy Ann Radford, Married: Nancy Holesapple, Children: 1) Benjamin Franklin, 2) Edward, 3) George, 4) Elizabeth, 5) Mary, 6) Lucy, 7) Rhoda, 8) Martha Jane, 9) David Simpson, 10) John D, 11) William.

    1810 US census household Kentucky, Rockcastle Co. (ancestry.com, image 3/8):
    William Cannefax (as spelled). Members of household(4) were identified by age, but the criteria are unsure because there were no descriptors. Column entries were as follows:
    -|-|-|1|1|| -|-|-|1|-|-|1|
    which I interpret to mean 1 male 15-20, 1 male 20-30, 1 female 15/20, 1 female 40-50. Presumably William Cannefax is the male 20-30 and Nancy Holsapple is the female 15-20 (consistent with their birthdates). The male 15-20 is unknown and the female 40-50 is unknown.

    Possible entry in 1820 US Census
