According to a Prussian travel document notarized in Trier in 20 Sep 1854, this person's father, Johann Friedrich Mueller was born 1 Jun 1826, and immigrated to the US in 1854, traveling with his wife Maria Carolina Theis, 25 years old, and two children Friedrich, born 9 Apr 1850 and Carl, born 5 Nov 1852. Carl is John Charles Miller.

He was still alive in January 1894, based on a receipt for purchase of a coffin at that time signed by him. The coffin was listed as for a Charles G. Miller, apparently an otherwise unknown son who died young since the coffin requested was a "little(?) white coffin".
