1880 Census gives residence in Haddonfield, NJ, in household of grandmother Sarah (Allen) Lippincott, b: 1863 NJ, age 17, occupation Clerk in Dry Goods Store (see entry for Sarah Allen).

According to application of D.C.N. Collins for Life Insurance, 1905, Tom died of tuberculosis at age 42--"a most unexpected and unaccountable disease in our family"; sick eight weeks, previous health good. "The only possible cause for it might have been 14 months apart in tropical climate--Guatemala."

Described in 1899-1900 newspaper article about grandfather John Collins (see entry) as currently operating a coffee plantation in Guatemala.

Married May Mitchell in 1890, according to notes of Rosalie Woodson Collins and of Francis Chamberlain.
