    Levi was a prosperous land owner and farmer, and lived on the Collins homestead near Smithville and operated the mills. (Hall's Daily Union History of Atlantic County (1899) and Biographies and Family Records of Revolutionary Soldiers, by Georgiana Collins Blake (1943)).

    At the Monthly Meeting of the Egg Harbor - Cape May Friends held on 12 day 6 mo. 1797 it was reported that Levi Collins had "requested to come under the care of friends" and at the Monthly Meeting held on 7 day 8 mo. 1797, his request to become a member was granted. 7 ACHSYB 82-83. Levi subsequently became an active member of the Society of Friends, and was appointed to represent the Egg Harbor Monthly Meeting at Quarterly Meetings held in Haddonfield and Evesham in 1800. 7 ACHSYB 158, 160. In 1801 he was appointed "to recieve the subscriptions for the relief of the suffering Brethren in Europe". 7 ACHSYB 163. On 4 day 1 mo. 1802, Levi Collins produced an acknowledgment to the Monthly Meeting for his "outgoing in Marriage". 8 ACHSYB 40. He subsequently made amends, and at the Monthly Meeting held on 1 day 11 mo. 1802 Levi "produced an acknowledgment deming his accomplishing his marriage with one not a member of our Society which was read & received." 8 ACHSYB 42. By 1809 Levi was again active in the Monthly Meeting, and he was appointed to attend Quarterly Meetings in Haddonfield in 1809 and 1810, 8 ACHSYB 122, 152, and a Quarterly Meeting in Evesham in 1810. 8 ACHSYB 152. Levi Collins name last appears in the Egg Harbor Monthly Meeting minutes on 4 day 1 mo 1813 when he was appointed to see that a marriage was orderly accomplished. 8 ACHSYB 156.

    The Levi Collins Bible record (16 ACHSBR 9), includes the birth dates of Levi, his wife Asenath, and their children. The Bible record follows Quaker usage by identifying months by number rather than name.

    Levi Collins is buried at the Collins Family burial ground at Collins Mills, Galloway Twp. According to http://freepages.history.rootsweb.com/~garyscottcollins/Richard-Collins-Medical-Assn-1881.pdf, he died of typhus in 1813.

    Gravestone: died aged 40 yr, 6 mo, 4 days.

Levi was a prosperous land owner and farmer, and lived near Port Republic. The children of Levi and Asenath Lake Collins were: 28. Samuel Griffiths, b. April 17, 1803; d. April 19,1834. 29.
