After living on the farm for ten years, Ida, Grace and her mother moved in 1901 to Arvadia, Indiana. Ida sewed for the public for several years. On April 11, 1909 her mother passed away. She rented a room in Pasedena, California and secured work in a dress making establishment. She returned to Indiana September 15, 1925.
