Note: Glenn C. Elder Takes His Life Services for Glenn C. Elder will be tomorrow afternoon at 2 at the Meirhoffer-Fleeman chapel, the Rev Isaac Elder officiating. They are not related. Burial will be at Oregon, MO. Mr. Elder, a 42-year-old painter, was found dead late yesterday afternoon in a room at the Artis Hotel, 609 S. 8th street. He had hanged himself from a light fixture. Coroner H.F. Mundy certified the death as suicide, caused by strangulation, and said that it had probabky taken place about 1:30 yesterday morning, one hour after he registred at the hotel. He had reportedly been despondent and in ill health. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Mittie Elder, St Joseph; one son, Bert Elder, with the Air Force in St Louis; one daughter, Miss Mae Elder; and three brothers, Lee, Robert ad Russell Elder, all of St Joseph. - St Joseph News Press, Friday Sept 22, 1950 pg 50
