    Ref: Charles Morgan, son of Anthony and Elizabeth (Taylor) Morgan wasborn Prince William Co., Va. He married Alice Thornton daughter of William Thornton. Information from Mrs. Leonard LeBlanc, 1750 W. LambertRd.#11, La Habra, CA. 90631. After 1717 he had purchased another 150acres from Alexander Beach. Both parties are described as being of Hanover Parish, King George Co., VA. The referenced land begins at his(Charles) own line and adjoins the land of Morgan Darnell, Edward Price, Alexander Scott and Mark Harden. (King George Co., VA. - Deed Book1, page 131)

    On 26 September 1724, Charles acquired 475 acres of land in the Northern Neck Grant area of Virginia from the estate of Catherine Lady Fairfax. In 1724, Charles is listed as a land owner on the North side of Great Run in Fauquier Co., Virginia. This land was later deeded to hissons James and Benjamin. On 2 September 1726, he was appointed surveyor of highways with the responsability of maintaining the Marsh bridgeroads.

(1721-1735) Ruth and Sam Sparacio, 1986.] On 3 December 1730, a specimen of his handwriting is among the papers of the State Land Office wherein he signed his name as a witness to the assignment of a patent by William McBee to Thomas Stamp.

Deed Book Liber B 1732-1735,Page 176-179 MARK HARDIN to JAMES McDONNELL tract on branch of MARSHknkown by name of JEFFREY JOHNSONS MARSH, also known as DUTCHMANS RUN originally granted to EDWARD JENNINGS joying lands of JEFFERY JOHNSON to CHARLES EMMONS..other tract granted by ROBERT CARTER, ESQ. For 232 acres on lands of ALEXANDER BEACHES line of JOSHUA BUTLER. Deed oflease and release. Signed MARK HARDIN. Witnesses: CHARLES MORGAN, THOMAS (X) WELCH.     In 1734, ISAAC SETTLE purchased from his father-in-law, MAXFIELD BROWNE, 100 acres in Hanover Parish, King George CoVA. Adjoining landowners were JOHN SETTLE, SR., JOSEPH SETTLE, JOSEPH DODD, and CAPT. SID LIGHTBURN. ISSAC SETTLE lived on this land until 1742 when he receiveda grant of 370 acres located in Prince William County (now Fauquier) on the east bank of the North Branch of the Rappahannock River. Adjoining landowners were MAJOR MURDOCK, GEORGE WILLIAMS, THOMAS JORDAN, CHARLES MORGAN, SR., CHARLES MORGAN, JR., THOMAS WELCH and THOMAS AIRES.

    Ref: Genealogies of Virginia Families, "Anthony Morgan of Old Rappahannock Co. by M.W. Hiden, p.708. Charles appears in the 1735 Quit Rent Rolls of Prince William Co., VA. In 1737 the Quit Rent Rolls for Prince William Co. show that Charles Morgan owned 650 acres. 1738 PrinceWilliam Co VA Quit Rent Rolls - Charles Morgan. On March 24 1738/39 he witnessed a will.

    On 4 September 1741/42 Northern Neck Grants, E-327 CHARLES MORGAN theelder, 392 acres in Prince William County on GREAT RUN of the Rappahannock River. This grant may have involved Thomas Lord Fairfax and theBaron Cameron of Scotland. It was originally surveyed by JOHN GRANT.Adjoining COL. CORBIN, MAJ.     30 July 1742 Northern Neck Grants, E-490 WILLIAM SETTLE of Prince William County, 507 acres in said county on BARROWS RUN. Surveyed by JOSEPH BERRY. Adjoining THOMAS WELCH, CHARLES MORGAN, CHARLES MORGAN JR.,THOMAS ACRES AYRES, GEORGE WILLIAMS, THOMAS JORDAN. [Northern Neck Land Grants, Abstracts by Gertrude Gray, 1987.]

    In 1749 (Prince William Deed Book M,p.55) he deeded land to his sons Benjamin and James and probably about the same time made similar provisions for sons William, Charles, Jr. and Simon. He furnished supplies for the French and Indian Wars (Boogher's Va. Gleanings p.99), (PrinceWilliam Deed Book M, p.55). Charles furnished supplies for the French and Indian Wars (Boogher's Va.     June 26, 1753 Prince William County Court Order Book p. 166. Petition of Frances Day against John Rains argued and evidence heard with case dismissed & defendant to recover of the petitioner his costs, and John Rains to pay William Bridges for two days & Charles Morgan for oneday for attending as evidence for him.

    May 29, 1754 Prince William County COB p. 78 Thomas Bridges, plaintiff vs. Charles Morgan, defendant. In case. The defendant has a specalimparlance granted until next court.

    Aug. 28, 1755 Prince William County COB p. 306 Thomas Bridges, plaintiff vs. Charles Morgan Junr. & wife, defendants, in case, The defendants have a further special imparlance granted them until next court. p.307 John Barker, plaintiff vs. Benjamin Bridges, defendant, in case, The said defendant pleads that he did not assume which the pltf. and joins the trial of which is refered until the next court.

    Charles will in Prince William County, Virginia (Abstracts of Wills and Marriages of Fauquier Co, VA.: 1759 - 1800, dated 3 Dec 1758 and probated 22 Sep 1766) mentions seven of his children who 'had received their full parts in purportion of my estate, the seven children before spoken of and above mentioned is (Viz) Charles, Simon, William, Benjamin, James, Alice and Mary Morgan'. His wife Anne received 1/3 part ofhis personal estate, his son John received 2/3 of remaining part. His son John was the executor of the will Witnesses in cluded John Edwards, Ganet Edwards and James Edwards.
