Note: !According to Stout, he migrated to County Armagh, Ireland, but children were baptized at St. Peters, Dublin (1706-1719). Landed in Newcastle, DE 1720, on "Eagle Wing". Was in Green Township, Chester Co., PA in 1733; by 1740 was on Franklin County tax roll with 100 acres. Stout cites Chester County Orphans' court book A, as naming all issue except Joseph. Was accompanied by brothers Samuel and John to America.
!Messer claims brother, Andrew also accompanied them to America and landed 22 May 1720. Says James was on tax list, East Nottingham, 1722-1732. Moved to Lurgan township, Cumberland County (now Franklin) in 1742. In April Court, took oath, gave age 45 years, born in Ireland, caveat against the acceptance of a survey made on a warrant granted Hugh Rippey, June 1732. Gives date of death as 19 February 1753; cites Orhpans Court, book A, page 417, November 1753). The Will Parham papers state James, the immigrant, was Elder of Pin Hook and Head of Elk Presbyterian Church, East Nottingham, PA, now Maryland.
