    Jeanette was the daughter of Beriah Thaddeus and Mary Virginia Smith Cox
    and granddaughter of William Henry and Mary Nelson Smith.

    Beriah Thaddeus Cox was the son of Josiah and Sarah Tyson Cox.

    Mrs. St. Amand was well known for her family research. Our Family
    Genealogy a book on the Nelsons, Cox, Smith, Little, Johnson and other
    families was written by her with help of her family. She also did a
    survey of grave sites in Pitt county in the 1950s that was published in
    four volumes in the early 1960s.

    The William Henry and Mary Nelson Smith house has been restored and a
    young family lives there today. They operate it as Shiloh Farms with
    icnics, hayrides, animals, old buildings, etc.
