  • Note: There is no proven data that Red Shoes is the father of Atahobia. This w as believed by the late Dr. Irv May of Texas A&M University. In his resear ch, he was led to believe that Red Shoes the son of Red Shoes and Sehoy w as the half brother of this Atahobia. The data regarding Red Shoes and Seh oy is validated and the fact that she had another son by a Choctaw in addi tion to her children by the Frenchman, Jean Baptiste deCourtel Marcha nd is also validated. Coushatta history speaks of Red Shoes (Jr.) as 1/2 C hoctaw and he is known to have maintained association with the Yowani Choc taws in Louisiana and Texas.
