    David Burleson, Revolutionary soldier, was born in NC, d 1755. He signe d the Oath of Allegian ce, anson Co. NC 1788. Discharged NC Regiment 9 O ct 1782. Married in NC, Ursula Weatherford a bout 1773. This date is fi gured by birth of first child and census records. He moved to Rut her ford Co TN 1782--was driven back to NC by astrocities of the Indians, b ut came back to T N in 1805, and remained until his death 13 Aug 1832. H e is buried in Burleson Cemetary on th e old home place of Mrs. Kate Bu rleson Talley, in Rutherford Co near Murfreesboro. A governme nt marker p laced by the Capt. William Lytle Chapter DAR marks his grave:"David Bur leson, Jame s Farris Battalion, Col. Wade's Regiment, NC. Discharged 9 O ct 1782. Died 13 Aug 1832" pg 46 1 "Tombstone Inscriptions" by Acklen.

    David F. Burleson Sr. is buried in the Burleson Cem at his home and nex t to his son Isaac an d David's wife Ursula is also buried there, but w ithout a marker. He lived in Anson Co, NC si nce at least 1780 when he r eceived a grant of land. on the 1790 Montgomery Co, NC census, I f ind D avid and his brother Isaac. About 1805, he would move most of his famil y back to his fam ily's home farm in Rutherford Co, TN. Although David d ied in Murfreesboro, many of his descen dants are found in Leon Co, TX. T he family farm joined the Hobson and Frederick farms and tha t is how t heir children married into each others families in Rutherford Co, TN

    1. I give to my beloved wife, Ursula Burleson, the following property t o dispose of as she sees fit: 1 negro man by the name of Samuel, 1 Bay m are and colt, 1 Sorrel horse, 4 cows, and 2 beds & furniture.
    2. I give to my sons John, Moses, David, William, Hill K. - one dollar e ach. I also give to my daughters Sarah Rolling, Mary Brooks, Nelly Roll ing, Margaret Pope, Ursula Self - one dollar each. The balance of my es tate, whether named or not, I give to my son Isaac Burleson, to his and h is heirs forever. In witness whereof, I hereunto set my hand and seal, t his 22nd Day of February 1828.
