Dated 18th day of February 1829
In the name of God Amen- I Jessee Keesee, of the County of Pittsylavania, and State of Virginia. Do make and ordain this my last will and testement in the manner of form following, to say, and I do hereby revoke all other wills by me heretofore made. It is my desire that all my just debts be paid out of my estate by my executors herein after to be named.
Item.- I give my wife during her natural life the followig property to wit. thirty acres of land with the house where I now live with leave to wit. thrity acres of land with the house where I now live with leave to get firewood, or any other timber she may stnad in need of for her own use, from any of my land, also two negro's, Peter, and Marial. One bed and furniture, the cupboard,- two cows with calves, one horse appraised at forty dollars. Five dollars worth of kitchen furniture, at appraised value, it is my desire and will that my wie be allowed a reasonable support from year to year out of my estate, and at the death of my wife I desire that the above mentioned property be sold and the money equally divided among my children.
Item.- It is my will and desire that all my estate both real and personal except that herein mentioned bequeathed to my wife be sold by my executors in the following manner to wit.- All my lands to be devided into lots, one to three annual payments, my negro's to be sold on credit of two years, one half the money to be paid at the end of twelve months, and the balance in two years, and all the balance of my property to be sold on a credit of twelve months, and the money when collected to be divided in the following manner.
Item.- To my daughter Tenia Marlor and Maryan Walton, to each I give one dollar, and the balance of my estate I wish to be divided into nine equal parts, as follows,
Item.- To my dauther Amy Green. I give one ninth part of my estate, including three hundred and twenty dollars, which she has already rec'd from me.
Item.- To my daughter, Polly Dalton. I give one ninth part of my estate, including one hundred dollars which she already received from me.
Item.-To my son Avery Keesee. I lend one ninth part of my estate during his natural life; and to him and his lawful heirs, should he have any, and if not, to revert back to his surviving brother's and sister's.
Item.- To my son Richard Keesee. I give one nineth part of my estate, including thirty three dollars & twenty eight cents, for which I hold his bond.
Item.- To my four grand-daughter's, daughters of Maryann Walton, deceased to wit. Mary Dolton. Jane D. Walton. Lucenda Walton. and martha Ann Walton. To them I give one ninth part of my estate, to be equally divided between them.
Item.- To my daughter Anna Pickerel, I give one ninth part of my estate, including one hundred dollars which she has received from me already.
Item.- To my daughter Sally Pickerel, and her daughter, Ann Barker, I give one ninth part of my estate to be divided in the following manner. To Sally Pickerel, four fifths of one ninth- and to Anna Barker, one fifth of one ninth.
Item.- To my son Booker Keesee. I give one ninth part of my estate, including one hundred dollars, which he is due me fro certain parts of lands, I wish my Executors, to make a right to him, also his bond for sixty eight dollars.
Item.- To my daughter Uelly (Milly) Hofman, I give one ninth part of my estate, including five dollars which she has received of me. And I do appoint Lynch Dellard my Executor, of this my last will and Testement.
In witness here of I have here unto offered my hand and (seal) the 18th day of February 1829
