    "Ivy met Emerson at a social at the Westley Chapel Methodist Church. The young ladies had prepared box suppers for which the young men would bid, the price included the oppurtunity to eat the supper with the young lady who had made it. Wilson out bid everyone, including Truman McVicker, to dine with Ivy. Ivy married Emerson inspite of the minister's admonition that "it would never last". In fact it lasted a lifetime."
