Note: W. A. Pinto says, Frank received a bad injury in The Civil War; he never was robust. George Cage bought the hardware store for Frank to have a livelihood as he was not well enough to do well working for someone else. The hardware store was sold to Bromburg? Merc. Co after death of Frank Cage. Frank had a daughter Josie by his first wife in Mississippi, and by his second wife Mrs. Burros?, he had 3 girls: Bessie, Luceal, Golden and a boy who died in infancy.
His obituary in the Mineola newspaper reads: "Frank Cage dropped dead at his brother's store yesterday morning between 8 & 9 oclock. Mr. Cage fell dead in the hardware store of his brother George A. Cage where he was employed as a clerk. It was known that he was a sufferer from heart trouble, hence his death was not a surprise, while it was universally regretted. Frank Cage came to Mineola, Texas from his native state of Miss in 1872 & was a good citizen, a Christian gentleman, an indulgent & loving husband & parent. The funeral took place this morning at 10 oclock from the Methodist Church, remains interred in the City Cemetery."
