    1754 - NOTE - This indenture made this 13th November 1754, between John Warland of Charles County, planter, and the Revd. Samuel Clagett, of the same county Witnesseth. Whereas John Warland, late of this County, Deceased, and father to John Warland, party to these present was seized of a tract or parcel of land lying in William & Mary Parish, called New Alsford, containing 86 acres, which said tract John Warland the younger has sufficient reason to believe was sold by this father to George Thomas, sometime since of the county, now deceased, and the said George Thomas, held and possessed the said tract of land for many years and by his last will and testament devised the said tract to his grandson Benjamin Compton of this county who has since sold the premises to Samuel Clagett for 10,000 lbs. of tobacco; now, as the deed of conveyance from John Warland the elder to George Thomas thru some neglect or misconduct cannot readily be come at upon record, John Warland being well satisfied of the justice of this matter as well as for and in consideration of 1000 lbs. of tobacco to him paid by Samuel Clagett hath transferred to Samuel Clagett all right, title, claim, property and interest which he hath or might have to New Alsford

    1778 DEED - 23 Sep 1778 from Thomas prather of M, planter, to John Worland of Prince George's County, planter, for 700 lbs, part of a tract of land called Mitchells Range, beginning for sd tract of land at a tract of land called Bakers Chance lying on the sourth side of great Seneca Cr, containing and now laid out for about 224 acres. Signed - Thos. Prather. Wit- Joseph wilson, Gerd Briscone, Eleanor Prather, wife of the sd Thomas Prather, relinquished her right of dower to the within mentioned land. Recorded Oct 12, 1778.

    1780 DEED -Mary 25, 1780 from John Worland of Montgomery County to John Worthington Warfield of Montgomery for 300 lbs part of a tract of land called Mitchels Range, containing about 30 acres. Signed - John Worland Sr. Wit - Joseph Wilson, Wm smith, Mary Worland, wife of the sd John Worland, reliquised her right of dower to the within mntioned land. Recorded Jun 5, 1780.

    NOTE - A letter written in 1992, by Stephen Theodore Worland, a great-grandson, states that his great-grandfather was married three times. This was the only record found concerning another marriage and it has not be proved.
