This database was drawn from the book, History of DuPage County, Ill. edited by Rufus Blanchard, 1882. There were 2 sets of page numbers used in the original edition, so I labeled the biographical one "B" and the front section "A". I tried to document the pages where the families were mentioned, except for the military lists. I made very few corrections, such as spelling changes for my own families. I hope this helps people who are out of the area and could not get access to the book otherwise.

    member of State Board of Agriculture

    Established in 1849 the DuPage County Nurseries, 50 acres of fruit and ornamental trees, shrubs and plants. In 1857 they imported 30,000 evergreens and other plants from Europe. Employed 10-12 families
