24th May 1784 Court
"Ordered following Jury or any 12 lay out & mark the most convenient
way from Shallow Fork of Haw River to the County Line towards
Fayetville, to wit, Wm. Oneal, Wm. Gwinn, John Hatson [my note:
Hudson?], Samuel James, James Ozburn, John Gwinn, Chamberlain Hutson,
Anthony Cable, Henry Straden, Christopher Holt, Thos. H. Perkins, Jno.
Albright, John Holt, jun., Lodowick Albright, Mich'l Cockletrees,
Lewis Garner & make return next Court."
This places the Hudsons on the Haw River in Orange Co. w/ the Gwins.
This part of Orange Co. broke off to form Alamance Co. in 1849. This
Haw River area of Alamance/Orange is in the nw quadrant. Orange Co.
was a part of Granville Co.
Couldn't find any Hudsons in the earlier Orange Co. court abstract
book (1752-1766.) The records for 1767 to May 1777 are missing.
Did she have a brother who was the Rev. James Gwin also in Sumner Co.,
TN? (Yes) b ca 1757, see IGI records for SC. This James Gwin had a
dau. also named Margaret b. 1800 who m. Alexander de La Plaunche Duval
in Sumner Co. in 1818.
