Four Woman and avery "young man" compose this five generation group ranging in age from two months to 88 years. The great great grandmother, Mrs. Caroline Vincent, 88, Croswell, the head of the group is holding Arthur William Cooper, son of Mrs. Arthur Cooper,19, Port Huron, who is standing directly back of them. Mrs. Vincent's Daughter, Mrs. Cora Gardner, 67, also of Croswell, and great grandmother of the infant is seated beside her, while Mrs. Gardner's Daughter, Mrs William Hicks, 37, Grandmother of the child, is standing behind her. The picture was taken recently at a family gathering.
Croswell, Feb. 7 - Still spry, in excellent health, doing her housekeeping including the baking of bread, is Mrs. Caroline Vincent, 88,the headof her family of five generations.
Members of her family recently gathered in her home for an informal reunion, when some of her family posed with her for a five generation picture.
Mrs. Vincent was born Sept. 21, 1853 in Canada and when 10 accompanied her parents to Lexington.
Soon after her marriage to the late Stephen Vincentin 1872, Mrs. Vincent and her husband settled on a farm in Croswell. Mrs. Vincent has lived on the same farm for 70 years.
Despite her age, Mrs. Vincent does most of her housework and is in excellent health. Still clinging to the old ways of housekeeping, she bakes her own bread. In her spare time from her household duties, she reads newspapers and books.
Mrs. Vincent has four children: Arthur Vincent, who lives with her; Harry Vincent, Mrs. John Rea and Mrs. Cora Gardner, all of Croswell; 12 grandchildren: 18 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Gardner, 67 lives with her mother to help her with housework. Mrs. Gardner was born Aug. 9, 1874 in the Vincent home in Croswell and was Married to the late Frank Gardner in 1894.
Mrs. Gardner has three children: Mrs. Herbert lITTLE, Mrs. William Hicks and Kenneth Gardner, all of Port Huron. Her fourth child Mrs. Clement Losie, died in 1939.Mrs. Gardner has 12 Grandchildren and three Great Grandchildren.
Mrs. Hicks, 37, was born Sept. 18, 1904 in Croswell. She was married20 years ago to William Hicksand has lived in Port Huron since her Marriage. Mrs. Hicks has five children: mrs. Olive Cooper, William, Donald, Thomas and Jack Hicks, all of Port Huron.
Her daughter, Mrs. Cooper, who is 19, was married to Oliver Cooper Aug. 8, 1940. They have a son, Arthur William, two months old.
