  • Note: Alexander and his wife Lydia left a record of their family in a Bible, which was refered to by Louis Duermyer in his detailed "Ashbaugh Research Guide." Their eleven children pioneered in Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon and Washington. Alexander and family left Ohio about 1854 and lived for a time in Michigan where Henry was born. They probably accompanied Lydia's brothers Peter and Daniel. About 1858 they moved to Louisa Co, IA.
