  • ID: I1545
  • Name: Leonard WORDEN
  • Sex: M
  • Change Date: 11 OCT 2014
  • Birth: ABT 1776 in Town of Clinton, Dutchess, New York
  • Event: Note
  • Note: According to notes written March 2, 1960 by Gladys Evina Borden Chapman, Leonard was married to an Indian. Now that we know Leonard's wife was actually Amy Montross, it appears the Indian connection may be on the Montross side, since Jacob Montross, Amy's grandfather, is said to have had an Indian wife. Or perhaps this reference is to Peleg Worden's wife, Rebecca. Peleg was Leonard's grandfather. On the other hand, DNA evidence points to less than one percent Native American ancestry in those cousins in the Worden DNA study concluded in September 2014 whose ethnic results were available to me (See Wordens Past, November 2014, pub. by www.wordenfamilyassoc.org.) This suggests there was no Native American in this lineage. 1 2 3
