    Charles Gott, his wife, Thankful Palmer and 2 daughters; Remember and Bethiah, on the 28th of June 1628 sailed on the ship "Abigail" (Henry Gardner, Master, from Weymouth, England) and in the month of September 1628 arrived at Salem, Massachusetts. Among those on board were John Endicott, afterwards Governor of the Province of Massachusetts Bay and Charles Gott.

    On 19 October 1630, John Gott requested admission as freeman; on 18 May 1631 he was received as such.

    In 1635, John Gott was made Deacon of the Church and all through his life he played an active part in civic affairs. His wife's first name was Sarah (Thankful Palmer)...
