    From "New York, 1820-1850 Passenger and Immigration List" at Ancestry.com, Bernard Goatzman, Male, age 38, wife Maria Goatzman, female, age 30, son Henry Goatzman, male, age 8, son Caile (Charles) Goatzman, male, age 6, daughter Caroline Goatzman, female, age 4, and daughter Maria Goatzman, female, age 2 departed from the port at Le Havre, France on the ship NILE and arrived in New York on June 4, 1840. Also on this ship were Bernard's sister Dorethea and her children. Due to an error in the list they are show with the last name Solegmann. Listed are Dorethea, female, son Fried Solegmann, male, age 16, son Laurent Solegmann, male, age 13, and son Philip Solegmann, male, age 10. Bernard and Dorethea's brother Philip (Heinrich) and his family are also on this ship. Listed are Philip Goelzman, age 46, wife Salome Goelzman, age 48, daughter Salome Goelzman, age 21, son Daniel Goelzman, age 17, son Franz (Frederick) Goelzman, age 16, son Christian Goelzman, age 15, son Valentine Goelzman, age 13, son George Goelzman, age 10, and son Carl (Charles) Goelzman, age 6.

    Mary Eve GOETZMAN came to America in 1839 and settled in Ohio. She moved to Boone, Boone County, Iowa in 1853.
