EDGERTON - C. Earl ''Tube'' Ogden, age 82, of Edgerton, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002 at Haven House Hospice. He was born in Edgerton, on Dec. 7, 1919, the son of Clyde and Emelie (Jensen) Ogden. He married Lucille M. ''Boots'' Looser on May 10, 1947. She preceded him in death on Dec. 23, 1997 after 50 years of marriage. Tube graduated from Edgerton High School in 1938 and he was a lifetime resident of Edgerton. He was employed by Block Bros. Tobacco, Highway Trailer Co., and the Edgerton Post Office. He retired from the Postal Service on July 1, 1972 after 32 years of service. Tube served with the 9th Infantry Division, 9th Signal Company in Tunisia, Sicily, Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe. He was a member of the American Legion, and the National Assoc. of Retired Federal Employees.
He is survived by his daughter, Jackie (Bill) Bliss of Janesville; a son, Richard Ogden of Atascadero, CA; 4 grandchildren: Sarah (Michael Yu) Adams, Mark (Jenni) Adams, Devon (Tami) Bliss and Coral Ogden; 3 great grandchildren: Emily, Evan and Kyle; several nieces and nephews including a niece, Linda (Richard) Dowd; and a nephew, Robert (Marilyn) Wille. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lucille; 2 daughters, Beth Ogden and Kay Adams; and a sister, Alice Wille.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 25, 2002 at Fassett Cemetery, Edgerton, with Military Honors performed by the Edgerton Memorial Squad. Interment will be in Fassett Cemetery. Schneider Funeral Home is assisting the family.
