    Elwin Hall Kumlien, 86, of 165 S. John Paul Road, died Friday, June 9, 2000, at Mercy Health Care System.
    He was born Oct. 3, 1913, in Johnstown Center, the son of Ludwig and Olive (Hall) Kumlien. He was married to Ruth L. Robbins April 20, 1934. He was in the furnace business and retired from Highway Trailer, Edgerton, where he was a foreman. He was a member of the Milton Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge #69.
    He is survived by two sons, Richard (Suzanne) of Janesville and William (Dawn) of Brownfield, Tex.; two daughters, Shirley Kumlien of Madison and Laura (Alan) Kreger of Milton; two brothers, Bruce of Milton and Gene (Mary) of Milton; two sisters, Betty (Donald) Bussewitz of South Carolina and Eunice (Donald) Staven of Janesville; 22 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on Nov. 12, 1989; a daughter, Elaine Slowley; and a son, Jack E. Kumlien; three brothers: Wendell "Shortie", Spence, and Kendall "Butch"; and three grandchildren: Joseph, Jacob and Jillian Kreger.
    Memorial services were held Tuesday, June 13, at Albrecht Funeral Home. Rev. Glenn Skatrud officiated. Burial was in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. A memorial has been established in his name.
