He was also a member of the Jonathan and University Clubs and the Los Angeles Bar Association, Phi Delta Phi, Phi Kappa Phi, Scribes, Sierra (LA); Surf and Sand (Hermosa Beach). Republican. Judge Tappan died enroute to Georgiest Hospital on 11/20/1932. Autopsy performed: chronic myocarditis w/sclerosis of left coronary artery of the heart. Informant: F.D. Tappaan.
