I have recently found out that Elizabeth "Betsey" Turner married a John Gregory
(2) (John GREGORY b. 1781 & Elizabeth ["Betsey"] TURNER (dau of Capt. Henry
Turner and Rachel Stovall) b: 21 MAY 1784 in ,Amherst,VA m. 7 DEC 1799 in,
Amherst, VA)(This couple is burried in Sumner Co, TN), son of John Gregory (1).
Note: John Gregory (1) was born in Virginia and married Sally Tucker. This couple is
buried near Nelson Courthouse, Va.
Their son was another John Gregory (2). He served with General Wayne in the
Northwest campaign in the 1790's.
The son of Elizabeth Turner and John Gregory (2) was George N. Gregory, who may
have married Mary Ann Earl (All of the above is per recollection of a
descendant, now deceased) (There is a record of a marriage in 1824, in
Lynchburg, VA of George Gregory
and Mary Ann Earl), then Jane W. Taylor(or Tyler) and then a third wife in
Washington TWP, Beaufort Co. NC before he died. I am Rev George N. Gregory's
ggg grandaughter.
