    In the name of God Amen.

    I Anne Lynch of Greenville District in the State of South Carolina calling to mind that God hath alloted for all mankind to die, and being far advanced in age, but of Sound disposing mind and memory, do make and ordain this my only and last will and Testament, to be forever hereafter valued as such both in Law and Equaty; but first I do absolutely will and bequeath my soul to God who gave it and my body to the grave to be decently buried in a Christian like manner; it is my will and desire that all my just debts be first paid, ------ and as to the balance of my wordly Estate which it has pleased God to bless me with I do absolutely will and bequeath it to be divided between my Children in the following manner ( To Wit )

    I do absolutely give and bequeath to my Daughter Dyce Smith one Horse and Saddle, four Hundred dollars in cash, and my large chest to her and her heirs forever.

    I do and absolutely bequeath to my Son Banister Stone my negro woman Ematine and her Daughter Harriot together with their increase and also one feather bed and furnature to him and his heirs forever, the rest of my beds be cloathing and wareing cloaths, I do absolutely will and bequeath to my daughter Dyce Smith, and Anne Cochran to be Eqully divided between them, the balance of my worldly estate

    it is my will and desire that itshall be divided equally between the children of my Daughter Lavina Chatrnon {Chatmon / Chapman ??} (Deces'd) and the children of my Daughter Harriot Gibson (Deces'd) to be eqally divided amongst or between those children as they come of age;

    It is my will and desire that my Son Banister Stone shall receive the money coming to the children of my Daughter Lavina Chatmon (deceased) according to the provision made for them in this my only and last will and testament, pay over to those that are of age their portion, Keep the balance of the money out of interest if convenientand pay to the other children their portion of it as they come of age, - - - -

    and it is my will that my Son William Lynch shall receive the money coming to the children of my Daughter Harriot Gibson (deceased) according to the provision made for them in this my only and last will and testament, pay over to those that may be of lawful age their portion, keep the balance of the money out of Interest if convenient and pay to the other children their portion as they come of age and I do hereby appoint my Son Banister Stone Executor to this my only and last will and Testament.

    A CODICIL TO MY LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT

    Whereas I Anne Lynch of Greenville District and state of South Carolina have made my last will and Testament in writing bearing date 24th March Eighteen Hundred and thirty eight, and have therein bequeath and divide amongst my children what little of the welth of this world that it pleased God to bless me with Since the death of my late Husband, now I do by this writing which I hereby declare to be a Codicil to my said will to be taken as part thereof, will and direct, give and bequeath to my Daughter Dyce Smith , and to my Son Banister Stone a certain bond, or note of hand now Due me from Josiah Kilgore for four hundred dollars dated 15 January Eighteen Hundred forty and due one day after date, to them and their heirs forever to be equally divided between them share and share alike, reserving to myself the interest arising on said money during my natural life; and I do further will and bequeath unto my Grandson Giddeon Lynch, Son of Nathaniel Lynch of Pickens district South Carolina one hundred dollars which I wish applyed to the improving of his education and lastly it is my desire that this my present Codicil shall be annexed to and made a part of my last will and Testament to all intents and purposes boath in Law and Equaty.

    In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 2nd day of August 1842.

    Obituary - Greenville Mountaineer, 19 August 1842 :

    " Departed this life on the 6th inst. , Mrs. Ann Lynch, in the 89th year of her age, having been an orderly member of the Baptist Church for the last fifty-three years was the widow of the late Capt. Wm. Lynch of Pickens District, S.C. , and formerly a resident of Pittsylvania County, VA ... She has left numerous friends and relatives to mourn her loss".

    She is buried in the Simpsonville City Cemetery, Simpsonville, Greenville County, South Carolina.

    30 iv. Dicey Stone.
