    MARTHA ELLEN TANNER-GARRISON: Daughter of Simpson and Calamatta McGannon-Tanner born on the farm SW of Greensburg, February 15, 1840. She was married to Joseph Garrison, February 16, 1865, and to this union was born two daughters Minnie Malissa born March 30, 1868, died -?- , and Zana M. born July 24, 1872, died November 3, 1878. They lived most of their lives on the Garrison farm until their latter years moving in to Greensburg. Martha died March 10, 1923. Joseph, had Civil War service, but it has not been located it at the present time.

    On their well-kept farm in the early days of natural gas in Indiana they drilled their own gas well, which they used as many others did, rather wastefully, burning it in regular wood stove, continuously. Later on this gave out. The farm is now owned by the adopted son of their daughter Minnie Roszell. Leander Roszell is in the bank at Greensburg.
