INGEBORG POWERS DECEASED - VAUDEVILLE PERFORMER

Services for Mrs. Ingeborg R. Powers, 81, who for many years was a vaudeville entertainer, 1: 00
P.M., Friday, at the Allen Funeral Home, Fenton. Burial at Bristol Cemetery. Mrs. Powers,
1500 Cedar Street, was dead on arrival Tuesday at Hurley Hospital.

Mrs. Powers was born in Clarkfield, Minnesota, but grew up in Minneapolis. Her family lived
near the Andrews Sisters and Mrs. Powers' sister played the piano while the girls practiced
harmonizing as children. Mrs. Powers and her husband, Harry G., lived in Flint between
engagements during their vaudeville years and settled here permanently in the late 40's. H e died
in 1951. She began her career in vaudeville when she and Mr. Powers were married in 1909.
They used the stage names of Harry and Bessie Gilman (his middle name). For years they were
on circuits in the west and Midwest and for most of their 35 years in show business the coupl e
booked their own acts in theaters and opera houses. She was a member of the Flint Poetry
Forum.

Mrs. Powers leaves her brother, Willard L. Peterson, Lake Fenton, and two sisters, Mrs. Ella
Bedford, Hollywood, Florida, and Mrs. Dagna Neilson, Los Angeles.
