Joseph Maunders, a well known and respected resident of Quincy, died at the family residenc e in Hardscrabble at about 2:30 o'clock yesterday morning after being confined to his home fo r about a month. Mr. Maunders was born in Cornwall, England, March 20, 1851 and came to Amer ica when a young man. He entered the employ of the Quincy Mining company shortly after his a rrival in the copper country and worked for that corporation for a great many years. For sev eral years past he had been employed as watchman and about a month ago he received injuries w hich resulted in death. The electric lights about the location went out and he was on his wa y to find out what the trouble was when the accident occurred. He entered a building throug h a window instead of the door and as he stepped inside he fell into a barrel of hot water . His limbs, and the lower part of his body were badly scalded and not withstanding the fac t taht he was given the best possible care and medical attention the injuries reulted in deat h. Mr. Maunders is survived by a wife and four children. The funeral will be held tomorro w afternoon and will leave the house at 2 o'clock. Services will be conducted by Rev. M.H. E ldred at Pewabic M.E. Church and the remains will be laid to rest in Lakeside cemetery. Th e members of Misletoe lodge....Sons of St. George will attend the funeral in a body.
