    The family moved to Brookfield, Worchester County, Massachusetts in 1706

    In 1715, at age 21, Benjamin moved to Enfield in the Colony of Connecticut, now Enfield, Hartford County, Connecticut, to make his way in life.

    About 1717 in Enfield, Hartford County, Connecticut Benjamin Thomas married Dorothy Kibbe. (7:258; 22:1) Dorothy was born 20 October 1696 in Enfield, Hartford County, Connecticut, daughter of Edward Kibbe and Dorothy Phelps of Sommers, Tolland County, Connecticut. Benjamin and Dorothy had at least 4 children:

    Thomas was granted a town lot in Enfield in 1720. They did not stay long before moving to Somers, Tolland County, Connecticut to be near Dorothy's parents. They settled 3/4 of a mile northeast of the cemetery.

    Benjamin was noted as the first maker of apple cider in Somers.

    Dorothy died in November 1728 at age 32 in Somers, Tolland County, Connecticut. Benjamin was left with 4 small children, but he waited 6 years to remarry.

    On 7 November 1734 in Somers, Tolland County, Connecticut Benjamin Thomas married Remember (Hall) King, the 45 year old widow of Benjamin King from Sheffield, Connecticut with 7 children. Remembrance was born 15 February 16 or 20 March 1689 in Taunton, Bristol County, Massachusetts, daughter of Samuel Hall and Elizabeth Bourne.
    Remember Hal married Benjamin King 24 Apr 1712 in Suffield, Hartford County, Connecticut and they had at least 8 children. Benjamin was a farmer and lived at Suffield, Hartford County, Connecticut until after his father's death in 1722. The family then moved east to Stafford, Tolland County, Connecticut, and move about 19 miles at which place he had a farm of three hundred acres. Their first 5 children, one of whom died in infancy, were born in Suffield, the last of these being born in 1721. Benjamin King died in 1733 along with many others, likely in the influenza pandemics of 1732-1733.

    Benjamin Thomas and Remember did not have any children.

    By 1736 the family was in Stafford, Tolland County, Connecticut
    His father, Benjamin Thomas I, is listed in Bodge's History, as a soldier under Captain Turner at the Falls Fight of 19 May 1676. Sixty Years later, in 1736, the General Court acknowledged this important and perilous service rendered by an appropriate grant of land. In "History of Western Massachusetts, the counties of Hampden, Hampshire, Franklin, and Berkshire", by Josiah Gilbert Holland, 1855, Springfield, Massachusetts, volume II-part III, page 319, the son, Benjamin II, is listed as a grantee of land "Benjamin Thomas, Strafford, son of Benjamin Thomas."

    Remembrance died on 20 March 1739 in Somers, Tolland County, Connecticut.

    In 1742 Benjamin acquired 50 acres in Stafford, Tolland County, Connecticut.
    Benjamin Thomas, stepfather of Samuel King, both of Sommers, deeded to Samuel King, fifty acres in Stafford, Connecticut. that formerly belonged to Benjamin King, Samuel's father, per Stafford land records book 2- page 48.

    Benjamin Thomas married Sarah Crouch 20 April 1758 at the Stafford Congregational Church in Stafford, Tolland County, Connecticut per "The Barbour Collection of Connecticut Town Vital Records: Stafford 1719-1850" , by Lorraine Cook White.(7:230) Sarah was born 20 December 1694 in Springfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts, daughter of ?. Benjamin and Sarah did not have any children.

    She was born 20 October 1696 in Enfield in the Colony of Connecticut, now Enfield, Hartford County, Connecticut.(3:2) She was the fifth generation of Dorothys, starting with Dorothy (Bird) Lord, born in 1589, wife of Thomas Lord, the Founder of Hartford, Connecticut.(1:258,259) Her daughter, Dorothy, was the sixth generation!

    In Enfield, Hartford County, Connecticut about 1717 Dorothy Kibbe married Benjamin Thomas, son of Benjamin Thomas and Ann Belding.(1:258; 5:1) Benjamin was born 20 December 1694 in the Colony of Massachusetts, now Springfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts . Dorothy and Benjamin had at least 4 children:
