    Note:
    Turlington Hall located on central campus of North Carolina State University in Raleigh is named for John Edwin Turlington. After graduation form NCSU in 1907,his employment for a year with the US Dept of Agriculture, in Lynchburg VA confirmed his belief that real advancement and contribution in the profession of agricultural research required advance study from a recognized university. He completed PHD at Cornell University 1912. He was a head master a Craven County Farm Life School and lated relocated his family in 1916 to Gainesville Florida. He was the first dept head of Agriculture Economics at the University of Florida. At the very heigh of his achievement and national recognition, he came into a lenthy illness that ended in his death at only fifty years of age.
