  • Note:
    Jeremiah Vail, Jr. by 02 June 1740 moved to New Hanover County, North Carolina where he petitoned the council for 400 acres.
    He was chartered to make a survey of the town of Wilmington, North Carolina in 1745.

    He was named one of three commisioners to erect public buildings in New Bern, North Carolina for a Provincial Capital.

    In 1752 he was appointed tax collector for exported goods in Carteret County, North Carolina. He was eventually replaced and his property was sold to satisfy misappropriated taxes.
