Isaac Farmer purchased land from James Farmer adjoining Nicholas Porter on Deep Creek; he later patented another 268 acres adjoining his original 120 acres. In 1760 he was living in Halifax County, North Carolina. In 1761 he returned to Edgecombe County and purchased 200 acres on Toisnot Swamp in lower Edgecombe County. 25 February 1770 he deed this 200 acres to his son Isaac Farmer, Jr. He is buried in the corner of the woods north of Toisnot Swamp.
