John Avery Lawson Sr., age 63, of Murfreesbora, Tennessee, died Saturday 2 January 1999, at the VA Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. The funeral will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday 6 January 1999, at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 pm Tuesday at Jennings & Ayres Funeral Home of Murfreesboro, Tennessee will direct.

He was the son of the late Frank Lawson Sr. and Ruby Avery Lawson. He was a retired Tech Sergeant with the US Air Force. He owned and operated Lawson Heating and Air Conditioning repair service of Murfreesboro. He was preceded in death by his brother Curtis Lawson; and two sisters Margaret Eads and Buelah Welch.

He is survived by his wife Eunice Pauline Lawson of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; two sons, John Avery Lawson Jr. and Christopher Lawson, both of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; two daughters Jennifer Lawson of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Linda Durante of Woodbury, Tennessee; two brothers Frank Lawson Jr. of Alabama and Charles Lawson of Michigan; two sisters Daphne Woodle and Dorothy Anderson, both of South Carolina and four grandchildren.
