    A biography for John Ross Somers McLernon, known as Ross, is shown on my Genealogy Blog.

    Ross spent his early life in New Zealand and moved to Toronto in Canada about 1905 to attend the Canadian Horological Institute. Ross married Edith Acer, a Canadian, about 1908. He initially worked as a jeweller in Montreal, but in 1918 Ross formed a company Acer McLernon Ltd, a Montreal based company that became world agents for many of the major Canadian pulp and paper companies. The company still trades today, since 1978 as Acer, Mclernon Canada Inc. (Acer, Mclernon).
