    Her maiden name is not absolutely certain. Bessie Douglas' "The families of Joshua Williams of Chester County, Pa. and John McKeehan of Cumberland County, Pa." gives it as Creig, while the 1860 U.S. Census records it as "Cring", but given that the 1860 and 1880 enumerations both record her as born in Indiana, she should appear in the 1850 Census, but does not, either as 'Cring' or 'Creig'.
