  • Note:

Date and location of death from notes of Edward C Parker, and confirmed by gravestone inscription from Evergreen Cemetery at Winchester: "Mr. Ezra Parker died 11 Mar 1810 AE 79 'Time how short! Eternity how long!'." [Gravestone information provided by Rand and Sharon Johnson, http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~johnsongenealogy/parker/index.html]

The publication "Weston Cautions 1757 to 1803" (published in the NEHGS Register, vol. 144, p. 215), demonstrates that Ezra and his wife were in Weston in 1758: "I have taken into my House Ezra Parker & Sarah his Wife & Sarah their Daughter the 15 Day of April 1758 Josiah Smith". The volume is a collection of notices required to be submitted to the town government whenever a resident took in a stranger or non-resident. It is not clear what Ezra was doing in Weston in 1758, nor who Josiah Smith was who took them in, but Ezra is known to have continued to reside in Newton until sometime after the birth of his son, Ezra Jr, in 1770.

Ezra was a supporter of independence, signing a covenant at Winchester on June 3, 1776, to declare war on England. He was a selectman of Winchester in 1782 and again in 1788. In 1795, both Ezra and his son, Ezra Jr, signed a petition for roads.
